  • At its core, Lumikhâ stands as a public call to ac- tion. Lumikha in Filipino translates to “to create.” The Lumikhâ brand missions seeks to empower voices, start conversation, and immerse guests in a Kapwa experience by providing an open space for artistic storytelling.

    Through different modes of storytelling, we engage the community to critically question current social movements, bridge the intergenerational view- points, intentionally practice inclusivity, and honor traditions. This space reimagines a future that actu- alizes a united Filipinx community.

    UniPro firmly believes there is no single path to building, strengthening and empowering a community. The Lumikhâ Arts Showcase aims to inspire guests to utilize their own individual interests to affect their communities – whether it be art, music, food, math, science – those interests can be a way to create change. Our team has carefully selected these artists to showcase how their passion is doing just that. It is through experiencing these artists' stories and sharing with others that we build 'Kapwa' – 'togetherness' – a Filipino value at the core of this event.

  • In person or online, we have proven how important community is to us. Masks did not hide our true selves but revealed it more. It has been showing us what is truly essential and what we need to avoid.

    We continue to grow, we continue to forge new ways to strengthen our community. In person and virtual, we make our presence in the public sphere. We will continue to tell our stories and bring the people together.

  • This 2023, Lumikhâ will proudly present a selection of new and courageous works, showcasing Filipino, Filipinx American and Asian artists who confront and enduring issues that have persisted through generations, but approach them with fresh perspectives and innovative methods. Our platform will spotlight these artists who persistently challenge conventional norms, pushing boundaries, and reimagining the role of art in today's society. Through their creations, they redefine the very essence of what it means to be an artist in our contemporary world.

    We will continue to breathe new air and explicate what it means to be part of a community, what it means to heal, and what it means to create.

Our Collaborative Intention

The Filipino-American / Texan community are more than the day-jobs we hold. We are creatives, expressionists, and performers. In deeply understanding this fundamental truth, we wanted to honor the expansion of Lumikhâ from its inception in 2019, #WeAreHere, to 2020 #WeHaveBegun and virtually during the pandemic 2021 #WeAreGrowing into 2023’s #WeAreRising.
