The name Woori Juntos (Pronounced: Woo-ree Hoon-tohs), Woori” is a Korean word that means “we,” and “juntos” is a Spanish word that means “together.” We combined these ideas with the word “rise” to create a name that symbolizes unity and progress: we rise together.

Mind the gap

The Greater Houston area is one of the most diverse cities in the United States. Woori Juntos aims to tackle the shared systemic failures of these communities and sought us out to help tell their organization’s story.

Our Collaborative Intention

Knowing our organizing background, we were first approached to help program a workshop, setting the tone of their Summer Youth Program. From there, our studio built a relationship of mutual understanding of our visions for a better Houston. We happily took the time to learn more about the people who help build Woori Juntos and let their intentions be known.

Our Actions

    • Facilitated internal meetings regarding programming flow and logistics with staff

    • Programming activities were relevant to identity, personal history within context of whole, and encouraged political engagement

    • Held interactive ice breaker and storytelling circle with care

    • Attended upcoming events in creation of new visual assets

    • Produced branded videos with newly-filmed footage to use for social media and online presence

  • Tailored, lens of care

    • Developmentally appropriate activities and topics for Summer Youth Program workshop

    • Production accommodations for filming participants, in-language interview translations and deliverables including subtitles
